Magazine Revisions 1

First and foremost I spiced up the font. I selected a more appropriate magazine font. I also moved up the sub heading below the main title with the sky instead of the building as the background. The Article Titles in front of the swimming pool i changed to have black outlines to enhance visibility. I also added a page number that matched my flatplan.

For the table of contents I changed to font of the word contents to match the cover page font. In the bottom left corner I completed the on the cover section which gives a brief description of the cover photo. Most importantly I edited all the pictures to be the same length and width. I also added a page number that matched my flatplan.

Feedback

A few revisions I am going to make are adding page numbers to my pages in my magazine. I also need to justify the text in  my articles and table of contents. I was told to choose a more exiting font on the cover and table of contents. In my table of contents I have to align the photos and make them the same size. In my table of contents I also have to make my page number list larger so their is less unused space. Overall my magazine was solid it just needed a few revisions. Some things I observed from other projects where some of the photos had photo effects also colored backgrounds where used.  I noticed a couple of my classmates magazines text was not visible against their backgrounds and some magazines lacked original photos. I didn't have to redo either one of these because I completed it correctly the first time. I chose to stick to a white background to cut printing ink costs. revisions you will make.

Use of Conventions

My project uses conventions of my genera. My table of contents has a 30% picture ratio which I observed in multiple magazines. My articles have a 60:40 ratio of text to pictures which follow a general magazine format. The cover picture of my magazine has the sky at the top third of the magazine taken with a wide shot similar to other covers. The text is on the left hand side of the cover and is positioned over the pool in white font. Positioning font over a blue light background such as a body of water is traditional in a magazine. In my article one page has a dominate photo and one page has three small photos neatly arranged at the top.My magazine represents the touristy, wealthy, mature, social group of individuals. My magazine will address the issues you may encounter when traveling. In the issue I wrote about The Sarasota-Bradenton Airport I covered issues that you may encounter that you wouldn't encounter at this airport. I found the airport had cover walkways, parking, and an area to walk your dog.

Flatplan
Article topics I included in my flat-plan consisted of: Personal narrative articles, Quizzes, How to's, Lists,  and Discussions. I decided to use these titles by studying other travel magazines and these where the types of questions. I decided to make my flatplan 120 pages because I noticed that travel magazines have more content than some other magazine theme's. My magazine can make more money because it will contain about 60 advertisements. Also since it covers many travel areas it will appeal to a diverse group of people. The layout contains and even amount of content with ads and follows a typical travel magazine layout so it will be engaging to read. The ads will be advertisements the magazine viewers will be interested in. Since it is a travel magazine the advertisements will be Hotels, cruises, cars, clothing, and resorts so they appeal to the reader.

Flatplan
For the article in my Flat-plan I had to come up with article ideas I would not be producing. One article was called 7 Places to go this Xmas season. In this article I would discuss 7 different county's around the world to travel to. In the article called Oaxaca Mexico's food capitol, I would review many popular dishes from the area. In The Efficient energy stadium in Brazil article I would discuss how the stadium saves energy and why you should see your next soccer game their. Museums in Morocco, I would show attractions Moroccan museums showcase. Inside look in Italy's winery's- I would discuss fermenting process and types of grapes each winery uses. For the article about holiday music tours I would highlight tours around the US. For an article on how to travel with your pets I would show when to bring to make your trip worry free and pet friendly places to stay. For the Winter style guide article i would showcase latest celebrity outfits. Quiz to find out were you should travel- this would ask questions and depending on there answers it would direct you to a travel destination.
